It's election time, and Julio is pretty sure he can't win, especially not against smart, perfect, popular Cricket. Lucas, on the other hand, might stand a chance, and so Julio concentrates his efforts on campaigning for his friend.

Somehow, though, it's Julio's own leadership qualities that keep getting called upon. When a classmate's glasses are broken, he organizes a class fund-raiser. He speaks up during an interview with the principal, arguing that a new rule is unfair. He challenges his teacher as to how class money will be spent. While Julio's eyes are on Lucas for president, everyone else has eyes on Julio, and to his surprise, he is nominated at the last minute...and elected!
